RYAN THRONDSET

Ryan Throndset led the Century Knights in an improbable OT win Friday night against Tuscarora. Trailing 21 – 0 at halftime, and 28 – 6 at the end of 3 quarters, Ryan Throndset completed 20 of 26 passes in the last quarter and a half for 289 yards and 3 TDs to lead the Century Knights to an overtime win over visiting Tuscarora. For the game Ryan Throndset had carreer highs of 26 completions for 340 total yards, 3 TDs, and running in a 2-point conversion.

The Chargers, a run-heavy team, threw for two second-half touchdowns Thursday night to avenge last year’s loss with a 28-13 win over South County in Chantilly.

NORTH POTOMAC – With his team trailing by three points with less than four minutes left in the game, Damascus quarterback Connor Frazier calmly walked to the sideline amid a sea of raucous red-clad Quince Orchard fans. His coach, Eric Wallich, told him to call a “13 counter”, the same play Frazier had run two plays earlier, when he gashed the Cougars defense for 29 yards.

Connor Frazier radiates with confidence. And why shouldn’t he? The junior gunslinger, who stands 6-feet-1, 180 pounds, has already shown more savvy then players two years older than him.

Frazier took over Damascus’ offense in Week 1 of his sophomore year and immediately made an impact. He led his team to a 4-1 record in his first five games and was well on his way to win No. 5 when he broke his collarbone against Magruder.

ASHBURN, VA – If there has been one program locally in the past few years that is churning out major college football prospects, it’s Mickey Thompson’s Stone Bridge Bulldogs. After sending 12 players to college football in 2008, the Bulldogs had a light year of signings this past spring, but all of that is about to change.

Just recently, Stone Bridge rising senior Rob Burns committed to UVA, and fellow 2011 prospects Marcus Harris, Spenser Rositano, and Brian Rody are close to accepting scholarship offers as well.

With the heat of the August sun around the corner, the recruiting news coming out of Ashburn is also heating up.

Stone Bridge has sent more football players to college football in the past 10 years in Loudoun County than any other program, but it would be safe to say, what happened a few weeks ago has never happened.

With the idea of teaching fundamental football skills to boys ages 6 to 14, the program’s director and founder Chris Baucia aims to give each player a taste of all the possible team positions. Baucia started the camp in 1999, but this was its first year in Calvert County.

The 2010 QB Tune Up Combine

Registrations are being accepted for the 2010 QB TUNE UP, Sunday August 1st 2010 from 3-6 pm at the Severn School , in Severna Park MD , which features 2 side by side turf fields, full film room with stadium seats.

We have a 3-part approach to this event. On field instruction, Film Study/ Analysis, Skills/Combine Competition Drills. The official training center of the Army All American Game, Athletic Republic will be handling all testing for the event

Quarterback’s will bring their favorite Wide Receiver targets for FREE for the last hour of the event. Receivers will report and be ready at 5 pm.

We have a youth division “JV” ages 10-12,and a High School Division “Varsity” rising frosh to HS seniors in 2010.

Major Internet recruiting sites and Exposure camps also regional and National All Star Games will cover this event. Get Exposure! Get Ready!

The Staff of the Quarterback Factory and top College, High School Coaches, will give instruction.

Josh Bordner could very well be the best recruit BC pulled in during the 2010 recruiting period. I’ll catch some slack for that, but the QB from Century High School (MD) has been proving himself to his coaches and peers ever since he enrolled in BC during the month of January. I had a chance to talk with Josh about his transition to BC, and the hard work that is sure to be ahead as he gears up for his first college season at the Heights.

When you first committed, what was your reasoning for picking Boston college?

I always liked it from the very beginning; it was a well known school with great academics and a great football program.

Drew Murphy is not a physical specimen. He is not destined for college greatness. He doesn’t run particularly fast. He doesn’t have a rifle right arm. He’s neither tall (5-foot-9) nor muscular (170 pounds). And with all due respect, Murphy looks more like the smart kid from advanced chemistry than a high school quarterback.

It’s easy to concentrate on all that Drew Murphy is not, instead of what he is. And what is he, exactly? Only one of the most successful high school quarterbacks in the state and the unquestioned leader of one of the best programs in Maryland.
