GONZAGA’S KEVIN HOGAN
Interview from Scarletnation.com

While the Class of 2010 is far from over, the search is already on for the next top quarterback in the Class of 2011. One player who has definitely thrown his name into the ring is Kevin Hogan of Washington (DC) Gonzaga, who spoke to ScarletNation.com recently about his junior season, his recruitment, and Rutgers.
Hogan, 6-foot-4 and 200-pounds, is actually also playing safety this season at Gonzaga, but it’s his quarterbacking skills that will take him to the next level. Thus far this season he has completed 92 of 140 passes for 1,123 yards and 11 touchdowns through six games.
“The season is going well,” said Hogan. “We’ve played the strength of our schedule and we are currently 3-3. We are hoping to get into the playoffs and surprise some people. We play two struggling teams in the next two weeks and finish up with Good Counsel and St. John’s. We have to win three out of those four to reach the playoffs, and I think we can.”
When it comes to his recruitment, Hogan is receiving interest from a number of top BCS programs already, and he has already had the opportunity to visit a few of them.
“My team participated in camps at Virginia and Maryland this summer for a passing league, so I have become familiar with some of the coaches there, as well as the campus,” said Hogan. “My uncle played at Notre Dame and my sister attends school there now, so I’ve been out there a few times, but not in a few years.”
So how is Hogan’s overall recruitment currently progressing?
“Recruitment is going well,” said Hogan. “I like all the schools who are interested in me and I like the coaches. Schools that are interested seem to be Virginia, Maryland, Michigan State, Boston College, Notre Dame, Duke, and Wake Forest. Virginia, Boston College, and Notre Dame have visited me at school, and Rutgers was at my game last week.”
While Rutgers seems relatively new to the chase, Hogan is eager to learn more.
“Coach Flood from Rutgers was at my game against DeMatha, but that’s the only thing I’ve heard from them,” said Hogan. “I don’t know much about Rutgers, but I would love to hear from them and check them out.”
